Western Wedding At Good Pasture Barn In Beulah Colorado | Courtney & Bryton

Courtney and Bryton’s big day was one for the books to say the very least. Courtney did such an incredible job incorporating so many special details into their wedding to truly make it their own.

When I arrived she had all of her details ready to photograph. Her dress, and bridesmaids dresses were each handmade by a local tailor. Her bouquet, custom with a hand-tooled leather wrap as well as her garter was created by Salted Rim Leather. And with the help of Mod West Jewelry, she even repurposed some old turquoise stones passed down from her grandmother into earrings and a bracelet. As I pulled these all together and pieced them together for the perfect detail shots, I knew it was going to be a killer day. Little did I know, just how good.

Fast forward through the first part of the day to the ceremony. The clouds began to roll in quickly. Somehow, by the grace of God, the rain held off just long enough for the ceremony to conclude. But before the entire wedding party made it back down the aisle, it began to really come down. Luckily, the barn offered shelter and a great backup spot for family portraits and after not long at all, a double rainbow appeared and we were able to get back out and continue with photos.

After we wrapped up portraits we came back in and got the party started. Without hesitation, this group got the music cranked and the beers crackin’. Literally. These folks came to rally and made sure everyone knew it. As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen some pretty rowdy grand entrances equipped with plenty of sweet dance moves and the occasional shotgun… but I have never seen as much beer being sprayed everywhere like I did with this crowd. Courtney and Bryton – you guys undoubtedly win best grand entrance.

As if that wasn’t enough to get thing going, after the first dance, Courtney and her father began to share what seemed like a standard and loving father-daughter dance. But suddenly, the music changed, and the shades came out. These two unsuspectedly popped off with the most hilarious and awesome choreographed dance. The crowd went absolutely bananas. It was so well put together and when the music switched back to the original song, they acted like nothing had even happened and wrapped it all up with a regular ole’ slow dance.

I had no idea that the bride’s side was such a dancin’ and singin’ crew, because shortly after dinner, Courtney’s younger sister also had us fooled with a seemingly traditional Maid of Honor speech. But not long into that she started rapping the speech in a similar tune to “It Takes Two” (To Make A Thing Go Right) by Rob Base. This had everyone in tears laughing and made for an easy transition into open dancing. Everyone crowded the dance floor and started getting down.
